Arena Palaitalia: when multidisciplinarity and urban vision drive Milan's transformation
For Artelia Italia, working on the Palaitalia Arena means contributing to the redesign of one of Milan's most strategic future urban centres, at the heart of the Montecity–Rogoredo masterplan. A project that interacts with the city and with the Milan-Cortina 2026 horizon, bringing with it new opportunities for regeneration and public use.
Our added value?
Integrating technical expertise, project coordination and engineering vision into a work designed by David Chipperfield Architects and Arup, which combines iconic architecture and complex infrastructure in a single urban system.
The Arena, with its 60,000 square metres and 80,000 square metres of multi-storey car park, is much more than a building: it is a mobility hub, a new public space and an essential piece in the redesign of the area. The pedestrian podium connecting the two functions becomes an open, accessible urban level designed to generate value.
From 2023 to 2026, Artelia Italia has guaranteed M.S.G. Arena S.c.a.r.l. continuous technical support throughout the entire design cycle. Our intervention involved the engineering of the Executive Project, ensuring consistency between disciplines and the translation of architectural choices into high-performance construction solutions.
We coordinated the multidisciplinary BIM model, managing the integration between architecture, structures and systems and supervising information flows in accordance with international standards.
Our work also included managing the main technical complexities of the project, with a focus on environmental sustainability, operational safety and technological innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, performance optimisation and risk mitigation.
This project perfectly embodies what Artelia Italia brings to the region: engineering rigour, integration capabilities and an approach geared towards responsible urban transformation.
